God is setting free the guilty—not by ignoring sin, not by lowering His standard, but by paying the price Himself. The righteousness we need is not achieved by us; it is received through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Law was never given to make a person righteous; it was given to expose guilt, silence self-defense, and show the true condition of the human heart. Like a medical scan that reveals a disease but cannot cure it, the Law diagnoses the problem without providing the solution.

In Romans 3:1–8, Paul answers common objections to God’s righteousness. Religious privilege does not save, unbelief does not weaken God’s faithfulness, and sin never serves God’s glory. God’s righteousness stands on its own, and the only right response is to stop excusing sin and submit to His truth.

Pride is not just a sin; it is the essence of sin. It is what caused Satan to fall, what led Adam and Eve to rebel, and what keeps people from bowing before God today. When we elevate ourselves as the standard, we make ourselves the god of our own world. But the Bible warns that ‘God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble’ (James 4:6). Until we humble ourselves before God, we cannot truly see our need for His grace.

You can believe in God, live a moral life, and even know about Jesus—yet still be lost. The disciples of John had repented and were waiting for the Messiah, but they hadn’t yet trusted in His finished work. Salvation isn’t found in partial knowledge or religious rituals; it’s found in Christ alone.

The self-righteous person truly believes they are right and cannot see their need for cleansing. They compare themselves to others instead of God’s standard. But what does God see? The reality is, if we are trusting in our own goodness, we are rejecting God’s righteousness. Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse us from our sin.

Apollos was a great speaker and knew the Scriptures well, but he was missing something—he didn’t yet understand that Jesus was the Christ. A righteous life is the best life to live because the righteous will be bold as a lion. The righteous will live with lionlike confidence in the face of danger. Being right with God, and living right before men produces a bold confident life.

In a perfect world, things would go exactly like we planned. In a perfect world, nothing would happen to disrupt our plans. My schedule would go exactly like I want. My day would never have any disruptions. People would agree with everything I say and do. But we don’t live in a perfect world.

Why is boasting about tomorrow and boasting about myself useless? Because tomorrow is uncertain and we are a poor judge of our character. We are tempted to overestimate our longevity and character. Treat today like it is the last, knowing that God sees the our labour.

FCF:Man thinks that is main problems are physical and is seeking a savior that will make their life better, which blinds them to their need for repentance and the saving work of Jesus Christ. Recognize your sin, turn to God in repentance, and trust in Jesus Christ as the only Savior who can prepare you for His coming.
